Not the beat-up rentals everyone else hands you. These are 2026 Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHOs, the flagship of the lineup, kept in our own fleet and ready at the harbor.

Chicago Lakefront
The difference

Top of the line, not the bottom.

Most rental operations run the cheapest, most-abused skis they can buy and hope you don't notice. We went the other way. The FX Cruiser SVHO is Yamaha's most powerful and refined personal watercraft, the one enthusiasts buy for themselves. Ours are brand-new 2026 units, meticulously maintained, and the only hands on them before yours are ours.

01 — The Fleet

Two units. One standard.

A pair of 2026 Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHOs, fueled and ready at the harbor.

Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO — Blue

The benchmark. Supercharged power, a plush three-up cruiser seat, and Yamaha's smoothest, most stable hull, so it handles the lake's chop without beating you up. Connected touchscreen, electric trim, and a ride that feels more grand tourer than rental. Two pristine units, run them side by side.

05 — FAQ

The fine print.

Damage Deposit & Policies

Yes, every operator is required to put down a damage deposit: $500 on a credit card or $1000 on a debit card. This hold is released once the PWC comes back with no damage, though your bank's timeline for clearing it can vary.

We release the hold on our end within 24 hours of the equipment being returned in the same condition you received it. From there, how fast it shows back up on your card depends on your bank, typically 2 to 7 business days for credit cards, sometimes longer.

Each PWC requires one card only.

Every operator needs their own credit or debit card, matching the name on their ID.

The Collection Charters does not provide insurance coverage for damage to the equipment, riders, or property. Check with your homeowners insurance provider, many policies can add a rental damage rider if you're not already covered.

We require notice at least 48 hours before your reservation to receive an 85% refund. Cancellations inside that window are non-refundable. Rescheduling follows the same 48-hour cutoff. All cancellation and reschedule requests must be sent by email from the reservation holder, including your name, confirmation number, reservation date, and the details of your request.

Things happen, so we always suggest building in extra time to get back to the harbor. Late returns are subject to a $5 per minute fee.

Your safety comes first. If conditions look questionable, we'll reschedule or issue a full refund, whichever works best for you. That call gets made the morning of your reservation.

Harbor & Parking

We're docked at Diversey Harbor, 2601 N Cannon Dr, Chicago, IL 60614.

Both free and paid parking are available nearby.

On the Water

Yes, every renter gets a personal flotation device.

Once you book, we send over a set of videos covering operation and safety. Then, at check-in, our team walks you through everything in person, operation, safety, and the rules of the water, and answers any last questions before you launch.

Yes, gas is included in your rental.

Nope, no license required.

Not at all. Our PWCs are already in the water and ready to go.

For safety, you need to be comfortable in the water and able to re-board the craft on your own without assistance.

Operators need to be fluent in English, since it's essential for safety and liability that all instructions are fully understood.

Under ideal conditions, boundaries run from Montrose Beach to the north and Alder Planetarium to the south. The playpen and Chicago River area is off limits. Boundaries tighten as wind and waves pick up, for your safety. You'll get a full route briefing from our crew before you launch.

Yes, every activity is by reservation, we don't take walk-ups.

Book directly online through the activity page, availability is live, so anything you see open is available.

Booking & Riders

You must be 18 to rent a PWC, and a government-issued ID is required.

A valid physical government photo ID and a credit or debit card for the operator. Beyond that, bring sunscreen, a towel, and water to stay hydrated.

Anyone over 42 inches tall can ride as a passenger. No one is permitted to sit in front of the driver.

Our PWCs seat three, but for everyone's safety we cap it at 2 adults or 375 lbs total. All operators and passengers need to be present at check-in.

For liability reasons, each PWC can only have 2 people, driver and passenger, assigned to it for the reservation. All operators and passengers must be present at check-in.

Reserve

Reserve the good ones before they're gone.

Two units, real demand, premium machines. Tell us when and we'll lock in your time on the water.
